Accent Masterclass Series

Hi all!

It’s been a minute. How was your summer? Does anyone else feel like we’re starting a new year? I still can’t seem to shake the school year frame of mind. 

It’s been a very busy time! Life has brought me back into the world of musical theatre, coaching, writing… I’m still working on finishing my book, which is going really well, and there’re a few other exciting productions in the works that I’ll tell you about when I can. I haven’t taken any holidays, but I am getting away for a few days towards the end of September, which I’m really excited about!

One of the things I am most looking forward to between now and the end of the year, is that I’ve decided to offer some Accent Masterclasses. 

I taught a group workshop on zoom for a company just before the summer, and it was fantastic. So I’ve decided to run a series of Accent Masterclasses that are affordable, fun, and jam-packed with practical information. 

Over the years, I’ve worked with actors and English speakers from all over the world, and if I’ve learned anything, it’s that the way I work changes quite a lot depending on who I’m working with.

The way you approach a General American accent as a native English-speaking actor from the UK is very different from the way you approach shifting your everyday accent as a non-native English speaker who isn’t an actor. 

So this will be a series of highly focused, live Accent Masterclasses on zoom, each designed for a very specific group of people.

I’ll be announcing the masterclasses month by month, according to what people are interested in. I have a list of 22 I’d like to do (lol!) and I’d love your thoughts on which accents you’d like me to look at etc. If you have anything specific you’re looking for, drop me an email to info@accentreshape.com

In September there will be 6 masterclasses:

Each masterclass consists of 2.5 hours of information, covering everything from muscular placement, exercises, sounds and sound combinations, rhythm, intonation… it will be a full-on foundation of the accent, followed by an optional 30 min Q&A session.

Each participant will receive a package of information covering everything that will include all the info covered, further exercises for practice, etc.

The cost of these Masterclasses is just €65 eur / £56 gbp / $75 usd.
